The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) is an international consortium of more than 530 businesses, government agencies, research organizations, and universities driven to make geospatial (location) information and services FAIR - Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable. 

TERN Vocabularies

A set of controlled vocabularies to drive TERN's various downstream applications.

TERN vocabularies also serve as an upper vocabulary for the new Ecology Data Platform at TERN. Vocabularies for different ecological data sources will be mapped to the TERN set of vocabularies such as the TERN "Observable properties" for vocabulary/dataset harmonisation.

City of Hobart

The 1850s saw the introduction of responsible government in Tasmania and the establishment of municipal administration, in the form of a general purpose locally-elected Council.

A court of fifteen commissioners was created by the Hobart Town Commissioners Act 1846, with the commissioners responsible for such things as paving and lighting throughout the city.

Research Organization Registry Community

ROR is a community-led project to develop an open, sustainable, usable, and unique identifier for every research organization in the world.

Between 2016 and 2018, a group of 17 organizations with a shared purpose invested their time and energy into an Org ID initiative, with the goal of defining requirements for an open, community-led organization identifier registry. The initiative was a transparent, accessible process to help work towards a better system for all of our communities.

International Geo Sample Number

International Geo Sample Number (IGSN), a unique identifier for samples and specimens collected from our natural environment.

The IGSN was developed by the System for Earth Sample Registration SESAR, with funding from the US National Science Foundation.

The IGSN e.V. is incorporated under German law as a not-for-profit society (gemeinnütziger eingetragener Verein) with a registered office at the GeoForschungsZentrum (GFZ) Potsdam.
