The Commission for the Management and Application of Geoscience Information (CGI) is an organization that aims to:
- Promote the exchange and interoperability of geoscience information
- Develop and promote geoscience information standards and best practices
- Provide means for transferring geoscience knowledge
- Assist in the international dissemination of best practices in geoscience information
- Stimulate and support initiatives that develop standards
The CGI is part of the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS)
