Data Roles

Submitted by admin on Wed, 28/02/2024 - 14:18

The roles that Agents - People and Organisations - play in relation to data. This is an extended and Semantic Web version of the International Organisation for Standardization’s ISO19115-1 standard.

This vocabulary is intended to replace other versions of the ISO Role Codes such as https://data.idnau.org/pid/vocab/idn-role-codes and be a central place, at least for Australian Linked Data, for these widely-used codes.

Borehole drilling method

Submitted by chee.ng on Thu, 15/02/2024 - 11:05

A list of drilling methods routinely used by the mineral and energy resource industries. The drilling methods are grouped into three main categories based on the dominant motion of the drillstem (i.e. the string of pipe that transmits power from the surface down to the drillbit) and drillbit (the part of the bottom-hole assembly that cuts, grinds or breaks the bottom-hole formation to make the hole). Specifically, the presence/absence of rotation in either or both is used as the main distinguishing factor, hence the main grouping into rotary, non-rotary and hybrid.

The New South Wales Forest Monitoring and improvement Program (NSW-FMIP) dataset contains data derived from LIDAR scans in 15 native forest plots within New South Wales in April 2021, during a pilot of potential field measurement methods for the state-wide forest plot network.  Data includes tree height, diameter, canopy cover, species composition, coarse woody debris, above-ground biomass and biodiversity Assessment Method structure.

Geochemistry Data Model

This data model is for the exchange of geochemistry data. It is intended for use initially by organisations supplying geochemistry results to the Geological Survey of Queensland and then perhaps later for geochemistry data exchange in Australia generally.

The Australian Biodiversity Information Standard (ABIS) is a data standard that specifies how information about biodiversity is to be represented for exchange and use in Australia.

ABIS is online at https://linked.data.gov.au/def/abis

It is a technical data standard and mandates a specific form of machine-readable information representation: RDF.
